- Community Activists, Service Providers and Ministers! I wanted to share with you the exciting things happening at The Way United Methodist Church, located at Scott United Methodist Church at the corner of 22nd and Dr. Andrew J. Brown. Please share the following information with your staff, clients, congregation, friends, etc: Saturday, July 12 at 1:00 p.m. - Community Forum with Aids Survivor and Activist - Rae Lewis Thornton. This woman of God has been living with full blown AIDS for over 20 years. The forum will focus on information pertinent to all persons interested in learning more about the HIV Virus and how it is affecting our community -- particularly women of color! Mike Bryson, Health Educator for Marion County Health Department and Nate Rush, Director of Bethlehem House will also share information about HIV/AIDS in the Indianapolis community. Saturday, July 12 at 6:30 p.m. - Dinner with Rae for Women Only. Rae will share her intimate story - sister to sister - with ladies over dinner. Rae is genuine, heartfelt, humerous, and raw. In her own way, she will allow women into her world as she has lived over her lifetime. WOMEN WON'T WANT TO MISS THIS!!! Dinner with Rae is FREE!!!! Our Needs - The Pendleton Correctional Facility has immediate needs for volunteers that can teach musical instruments, and any kind of musical Instruments you may have that are still in good working order that you may want to donate to the prison - they are also looking for all types of arts and crafts supplies for their Arts and Crafts classes. Plainfield ReEntry Educational Facility (PREF) is looking for all types of nursery items for its new Nurseries at the Indiana Women's Prisons and the Plainfield ReEntry Educational Facility.
